Meet The Contestants of MAFBEX Culinary Cup Home Chef Edition 2019

For over a decade, the Manila Food and Beverage Expo (MAFBEX) has elevated the industry with high-grade F&B expositions that cater to varied tastes and agendas of consumers and industry players alike. The 3rd MAFBEX Culinary Cup: Home Chef Edition is an exciting event feature that provides opportunities to aspiring cooks that have no formal training. Participants are put through a series of challenges that fuse both creativity and intuitive approaches in creating their signature masterpiece.

Cherubim’s passion for cooking started on the 5th grade. As a single mom, she wants to share her simple and healthy recipes that kids would enjoy.

Nathelie is a passionate cook. Being a nurse has never stopped her from stepping foot into the kitchen. As her passion brings her closer to the kitchen, she has decided to enter MAFBEX’s Home Chef Competition in order to share her passion to others.

Dang’s passion in stirring up things in the kitchen started at the age of eighteen. Her parents owned a meat processing business located in Sucat and BF Homes Paranaque. They specialized in tocino, longganisa, corned beef, tapa, smoked longganisa, and smoked ham. Their business did not take off as hoped, later on they shifted their business into a “carinderia”. With that change, Dang’s mother decided to work in South Korea in order to make ends meet. Her father asked her to take over the business in order to enhance her skills in the kitchen.

Mrs. Jared is a high spirited individual who has the drive to be in the kitchen. She is a housewife who enjoys making mouthwatering dishes for her family. With that being said, Mrs. Jared is joining the competition to try her luck.

Mrs. Adoracion started to be a cook when she entered her marriage. Her age has never hindered her to be in the kitchen. The drive and passion to ignite the taste buds of her family has always been a force to be reckon with. She is proud of her skills, and now she is ready to ignite the taste buds of others with this year’s MAFBEX Culinary Cup Home Chef Edition.

Sarah is a passionate cook, she’s been competing since she was on the 6th grade. Her passion to be in the know has brought her to this competition.

As a foodie, Fritzie has always been interested in the F&B industry. On her days off, she enjoys watching cooking shows. This habit has enable her to be familiar in the kitchen. Fritzie enjoys creating mouthwatering concoctions that are savored by her friends and family.

Angelo enjoys being in the kitchen. He initially wanted to take a course in the Hotel & Restaurant Management, the opinion of others had affected his choice. As an analyst in a prestigious company, he still hones his skills by showcasing his dishes to his colleagues. Angelo’s occupation has never hindered his passion. This competition serves as his “do-over” in the F&B field.

Jeffrey has been in the information technology for eleven years. He decided to change his career path and be in the F&B industry. This competition shall serve as his platform to be in this industry.
